Kerry Lance Carson, Sr., affectionately known as K.C., was born on July 18, 1963, to Cheryl Jeanne Carson and Clarence Tillman Jr. Kerry fought a courageous nine-year battle against a rare cancer and made a peaceful transition to eternal glory on Sunday, July 27, 2025, surrounded by his devoted family.
Kerry recently celebrated his birthday, experiencing an immense outpouring of love. He was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, by his mother Cheryl, alongside his brother, R. Barry Carson. Kerry was formally educated at Olney High School and Swenson Skills Center, where he learned the trade of carpentry and became a certified contractor. He honed his skills during multi-state deployments with John Sullivan Contractors.
Kerry met and fell in love with Tracy Beckett, and together they shared decades of cherished memories. He later joined MOBAC Total Construction Inc., where he was employed for over twenty years. During his tenure, he was responsible for the construction of numerous Iron Hill Brewery locations across the country—projects of which he was extremely proud. He would often bring his family to those restaurants after their completion to show off his handiwork. Kerry remained a valued employee until his retirement from MOBAC Inc. in 2024.
Kerry was deeply devoted to his family and loved them with his whole heart. Together, Kerry and Tracy raised his stepson, Ryan Beckett, and had two sons, Kerry Jr. (KJ) and Jordan. A loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Lakers, he often engaged in spirited debates with his brother, cousins, and friends during football and basketball seasons. Kerry was also an avid fan of Jeffrey Osborne—falling asleep and waking up to his music. He and Tracy shared many unforgettable concert experiences together with one of his favorite artists.
Kerry Carson, Sr. is survived by his loving wife, Tracy Beckett-Carson; his sons, Kerry Lance Carson Jr. and Jordan Carson; his stepson, Ryan Beckett; his daughter, Leshaun Lofton; his mother, Cheryl Jeanne Carson; his brother, Richard Barry Carson; his treasured cousin, Malik Colter; and a host of beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and friends.
