Kathryn "Kay" (nee Nearey) Shinn, age 85, of West Chester, Pennsylvania, passed away on May 12, 2021 surrounded by loving family.
Kay was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Thomas Nearey and Mary Dolan Nearey. In 1954, Kay graduated from West Catholic High School for Girls in Philadelphia. Kay was a dedicated mother and homemaker. Kay raised her family while living in many parts of the country and the world.
Kay is survived by her four children; Patricia Schnell, Francis Jr. (Donna), Kathleen Bradlee (Jonathan) and Joseph (Laura). Her grandchildren; Francis III (Erika), Laura, Bryant, Ryan and Sarah Kathryn. Her brothers Thomas (Betty) and Edward (Shirley), as well as many extended family and dear friends. Kay was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Francis J. Shinn, sister, Patricia Scarcelli (Richard) and brother, Joseph (Diane).
Kay was a loving and generous wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Kay’s kindhearted spirit, welcoming smile and love of family will live on in the hearts and minds of those lucky to have known her.
Kay was a devoted member of SS Philip & James, corner of Route #30 and Ship Road, Exton, PA 19341. Viewing and visitation will be held there on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 beginning at 10:00am followed by a Mass of Christian burial beginning at 11:00am. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed also.
