Cookie was born on March 7, 1954, and passed peacefully in her home on Monday, December 29, 2025.
Cookie made every room she entered come alive. Her beauty, humor, and warmth were disarming - so much so that they could mask the fierceness within her. There was nothing she couldn’t do, and there was nothing she didn’t accomplish that she chose to pursue, no matter the odds. She was drive and conviction wrapped in tenderness and understanding…wearing great shoes and just a hint of perfume. She was grace and class and strength embodied.
Being a mom - being Amy and Abby’s mom - is the only accomplishment she’d care to be remembered for. She and Harry created a happy home in which they raised their two girls, and eventually welcomed their two sons-in-law and four grandchildren. This family was the center of her universe, and she the center of theirs.
Feeling the loss of her presence are her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Harry Magen; her children, Amy and Michael Chain, and Abby and Jesus Frausto; and her BFFs—her grandchildren—Lauren Chain, Cecilia Chain, Cayo Frausto, and Noah Frausto. Also missing her are her sister, Joan (Sineni) Affatato; her brother, Edward Sineni; her nieces and nephews, who treasure memories of Thanksgiving at Aunt Cookie and Uncle Harry’s; and countless others who have loved her.
Cookie’s family is planning to celebrate her life privately. To honor her memory, they ask you to perform a small act of kindness.
