Katherine Larsen Obituary

Kathy, 90, passed away on February 1, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Woodlynn NJ, she was the daughter of Helen and Marion Wolinski.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Robert Larsen, with whom she shared 63 wonderful years of marriage; her brothers Marty Wolinksi, Eddie Wolinski, John Wolinski.

She is survived by four daughters, Barbara Larsen of West Chester, Kristine Martin (William) of Millsap, Texas, Susan Moser (Steve) of Gettysburg, and Donna “Ashana” Larsen (Michael Ousey) of Philadelphia; six grandchildren: Angela Stevens (Shane), Brian Moser (Kristen), Kaitlyn Turner (Cody), Dylan Larsen (Heather), Mikaela Larsen, Nigel Ousey; eight great-grandchildren: Haylee Mohan, Saige Stevens, Sierra Stevens, Alayna Moser, Brody Moser, Evan Bradley, Wilder Wimberly, Rhen Turner; sisters-in-law, Maryanne McGovern, Marge Wolinski, Robin Wolinski, Dorothy Larsen, and Penny Larsen.

Katherine was a beloved wife to Bob and together they shared many laughs and hours on the dance floor. She loved watching the birds, playing bridge with her friends, walking on the beach, finding treasures at garage sales, collecting angels, sneaking cookie dough, and in her younger days, she could whistle any tune. She was devoted to the sisters at Camilla Hall, especially her dear friend, Sister John Joseph, one of God’s angels on earth. Katherine volunteered at Camilla Hall for years and was famous for inviting the sisters to her home where she and Bob would serve hamburgers on the grill and send everyone home with goodie bags. Over the years, Kathy also volunteered with the Girl Scouts, Meals on Wheels, Chester County Hospital, and numerous school libraries. She was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Philip and James, sang in the choir, and lovingly cared for St Mary’s Chapel. She will be dearly missed but Bob has waited a long time in heaven for her.

We would like to thank Penn Medicine Hospice for their amazing care and support over the past year, especially Andrea and Mimi who were always there for us. We also want to thank our wonderful caregivers at Seniors Helping Seniors and Relative Care- Rosemary, Merrie, and Gail. With their help, we were lucky to be able to care for mom in the home she loved.

We are deeply grateful beyond what words can express for the twenty-year sacrifice of our sister Barb who lived with our parents, spearheaded the care for our father through a nine-year illness, and cared for our mother until her last breath. Her nursing, compassion, and humor kept our family together.

A small private memorial service will be held when the threat of COVID 19 subsides. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Camilla Hall Nursing Home, ℅ IHM Mission Advancement, 230 IHM Drive, Immaculata, PA 19355.
