Karen A. (Roeding) Sweeney

Karen A. Sweeney, 68, of Broomall, PA, passed away at her home on December 12, 2024.

She was born in Oceanside, Long Island, New York and was the daughter of the late Caroline M. (Wood) Roeding and Richard F. Roeding.

She graduated from Marple Newtown High School and received an RN degree in nursing from Delaware County Community College. She had many positions throughout the years as a secretary, real estate agent, massage therapist, as well as a nurse with the TSA and Aetna. She retired from Aetna in 2021 as an Appeals Claim Processor. She was a single mother who dreamed of owning her own home and made it happen. She loved making Christmas special. She always sent a huge box of gifts to her grandsons in Chicago. It was like a whole Christmas in a box.

She leaves behind her son, Daniel R. Sweeney (Nikki), her daughter and caregiver, Tanya K. Sweeney, and two grandsons, Amir Malik and Samir Malik, sister, Eileen C. Preston (E. David), one nephew, and two nieces. Also, her beloved three cats, Charlie, Duncan, and Blackie, and many feral cats she fed and gave shelter too.

Visitation: Friday, December 20, 2024, from 4:00-5:00 pm, Logan-Videon Funeral Home, 2001 Sproul Road, Broomall, PA, 19008.
