Karen Broadbelt Obituary

Karen Broadbelt passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025, at the age of 83, at her home in Broomall surrounded by her loving family.

She is predeceased by her mother, Isola Higgins, brother Adelbert, brother William, daughter Donna, grandson Jimmy and grandson Justin.

Survived by her loving husband of 67 years Sheldon "Skip", son Dell (Laura), son-in-law Jamie (Sue), grandchildren Jason (Cara), Jessica, Jeffery (Argelia), Jonathon (Joanna), Julie (Kevin), Josh (Lauren), Justine (Ronny),  great grandchildren Patrick, Colin, Nicole, Megan, Fio, Maria, Ava, Little Dell, Ella, Adam, Scarlett and Beckett and Life Sharing Family Member Denise.

Karen’s greatest joy came from her family. For 67 years, Karen shared a deep and unwavering love with her husband Skip.  Their marriage was a beautiful example of commitment and partnership, built on a foundation of respect, laughter and an enduring companionship that was evident to everyone that knew them.  As a devoted mother and grandmother she was the heart and soul of her family. Her home was a welcoming haven filled with laughter, warm smiles and lots of delicious food!

Karen and her husband Skip enjoyed playing cards with their dear friends Ruthie and Jack Salzman. She cherished the moments of laughter and friendly competition where she taught us that a good hand is only as good as the company you keep. Karen also loved going on trips and hanging out with her partner in crime and best friend of 45 years, JoAnne Galligan.

Karen’s loving spirit extended far beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of everyone she met.  For many years she devoted her time to helping others or simply being a kind and comforting presence to neighbors and friends.  Karen leaves behind a legacy of love that will live in our hearts forever.
