Karen Bennett Obituary

Karen Lee Bennett, a beacon of warmth and kindness, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on November 15, 1956, in Lynn, Massachusetts, Karen brought joy and laughter to those around her throughout her life. She passed away surrounded by the love of her family.

Karen is survived by her loving husband, Jay Bennett. She was the cherished mother of Jayson, Lauren, and Karly, and the adored mother-in-law to Brian Robinson. Karen's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Bennett and Mae, who will miss their "Kar-Kar's" gentle embrace and boundless love. She also leaves behind her dear mother, Dolores Erickson. Karen was predeceased by her father, Richard Erickson, and her brother, Richard (Leif) Erickson (Tina), whose memories remain a comfort to the family. Her sisters, Barbara Sawby (Jerry) and Donna Mushrush (Darwin), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, will fondly remember Karen's loving spirit.

Karen dedicated many years of her life enriching the lives of children as a Teacher's Aid at It's A Small World Daycare. Her natural ability to connect with children and her unwavering patience made her a favorite among her students and respected by her colleagues. Her work was not merely a job but a reflection of her innate passion for nurturing the growth and happiness of every child she met. She will be forever remembered as "Miss Karen."

Those who knew Karen understood her love for shopping, which was more than a pastime; it was a way for her to express her generosity and thoughtfulness, always finding the perfect gift to brighten someone's day. Karen's flair for party planning and organizing events showcased her attention to detail and her desire to bring people together in celebration. Her events were always filled with laughter, good food, and fun.

The words that best describe Karen are loving, friendly, and kind. She approached life with a gracious heart and an open door, always ready to lend an ear or offer support. Her friendly demeanor was contagious, turning strangers into friends with her easy conversation and sincere interest in others. Karen's kindness was felt by all who had the privilege to know her, from the gentle way she treated those in need to the compassionate guidance she provided to her family and friends.

Karen was a woman of many roles: a devoted wife, a loving mother, a doting grandmother, a caring daughter, a supportive sister, and a loyal friend. Each role was carried out with an abundance of love and a selflessness that defined her character. Her family was her pride and joy, and she instilled in them the values of kindness, respect, and love that she embodied every day.

As we bid farewell to Karen Lee Bennett, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and love. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love she gave so freely. Karen's influence will continue to be felt by all who were touched by her generous spirit.

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Karen, you were loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. Your light will continue to shine in the hearts of those you have left behind.

In honor of Karen's memory and all the of the entertainment she provided everyone with for years, we will be planning a "celebration of life" for her at a later date. Loved ones will be notified once everything has been finalized with the planning.
