John "Spider" F. Watson, of Darby, PA, formerly of Southwest Philly, passed away on April 18, 2025 at the age of 72. He was a man of unwavering kindness and had a friendly demeanor. Born on August 21, 1952, in Philadelphia, PA, John's life was a testament to the power of thoughtfulness and the enduring spirit of his beloved city.
John's early years were spent in the hallways of St. Clements grade school, where the foundation of his lifelong love for learning and sports was laid. His passion for Philadelphia sports was unparalleled, and he could often be found cheering on his favorite teams with an infectious enthusiasm that drew people to him.
John's friendly manner was not just reserved for his peers but was also a precious gift to his family. He was a loving father to John F. Watson, Jr., and took great pride in sharing his love of sports and life's simple pleasures with his son. The bond they shared was one of mutual respect and deep affection, a true reflection of John's capacity for love and his dedication to his family.
John was preceded in death by his father, Robert Watson, his mother, Mary, and his brothers, Robert "Bobby" and Joseph "Spike" Watson. His memory will be treasured and kept alive by his loving son, John F. Watson, Jr and his loving siblings: Mary (Tony), James "Jimmy" (Karen), Thomas "Boo" (Rosemary), Catherine "Cathy" (Daniel), Elizabeth "Betty" (Joseph), and Rosemary (Bill). He was an adored uncle to many nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss his playful spirit and kind heart.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM Thursday, April 24, 2025 at the Logan-Videon Funeral Home, 2001 Sproul Road, Broomall, PA 19008 followed by his Funeral Service at 12:00 PM. Interment at a later date.
