John "Jack" J. Cahill, Jr.

John "Jack" Cahill, Jr, passed away peacefully on the morning of September 27, 2021 at The Meadows at Shannondell after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease. 

Jack was born on March 15, 1935 to John and Helen Cahill (nee Hickey) in Philadelphia. After graduating from St. Joseph’s Preparatory School, he completed a business degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1956, where he competed on the varsity swim team and was an active member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity.

After graduation, he served in the Navy at the Pentagon while attending law school at night at George Washington University before earning his degree from Temple University. He began his 50- year law career in trusts and estates by joining his father and brother-in-law, Robert T Lynch, Sr. to form Cahil, Cahill, and Lynch (later Cahill, Lynch, and Tyler). In later years, he went on to merge his practice into the firm of Schubert, Bellwoar, Cahill, and Quinn. Jack was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus for many years and enjoyed golf with friends at Rolling Green Golf Club. In addition to traveling to five continents, he spent quality time each year enjoying the New Jersey seashore, and lakeside in Eagles Mere, PA.

Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Eleanor Hesch Cahill and his sister, Eileen Lynch, and his three children, Matthew (Leslie), Lori, and Brendan (Ann), and 7 precious grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Joanna McLaughlin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Visitation Friday, October 1 beginning at 9:00 A.M.. followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. at St Isaac Jogues Church, 50 W. Walker Road, Wayne, PA 19087.  Interment is private.
