John T. Wills
July 6, 1930 – April 25, 2022
John T. Wills of Exton, PA passed away peacefully at home on April 25, 2022. He was predeceased by his wife Doris Ann (Dee) and his parents, Richard and Mary Wills.
John was also predeceased by his brothers, Verdun (Rose), Frederick, James (Ann), Harold (Marion), Gerald and a sister, Mildred Scialpi (Joe).
He is survived by his sisters, Rosemarie (Robert)Williams and Helene (Tom) Balon and sisters-in-law Ruth Wills and Eleanor Wills .
John’s generosity and love will be missed by his children, Richard (Victoria), Marianne, and Christopher (Merry). Also his grandchildren, Emma (Marcus), Stephen (Brianne), Alison, John and Nathaniel Wills, and Veronica Wills. Great grandchildren, Rylan, McKade and Taveon Wills, Annesley and Ronin Wills, Julia and Isaiah Wills, Alexandra Wills, AJ, Kaisen and Kaiiyah Butler. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
John was born at home in Scranton, PA where he graduated from West Scranton High School. He excelled at and lettered in many sports. Upon graduation he earned a football scholarship to Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech). He had many fond memories of his teammates and playing days especially winning the 1953 National Championship title in his senior year after Tech beat Ole Miss in the Sugar Bowl, ending their season undefeated.
John served in the U.S. Army after graduation with tours in Korea and Japan. He met his wife in St. Louis, Missouri where he ended his military service. He and Doris Ann and their children moved often during his long career in the oil industry. He started his career with Site Oil Company in St. Louis, Missouri and retired after working in various sales and marketing executive positions with Sun Oil Company in Philadelphia, PA.
In retirement John enjoyed umpiring women’s softball games and working for United Way of Southeastern PA. He was active in his community serving in many volunteer positions with the Rhondda HOA. He is a 42 year member of Ss. Philip and James parish in Exton.
John enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved his desserts, his pets and watching football.

Please join his family in celebrating his life on Saturday, May 21st at Saints Philip and James Church in Exton, PA. Visitation at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m.
