John-Tyler Adam Dawes

John-Tyler Adam Dawes, known to his family and friends as Adam, 27, passed away suddenly on Sunday evening, February 12th, 2023. He was the loving son of Dr. Donald D. and Catherine L. (nee Bohrer) Dawes of Bernville. 

Adam was born in Neptune, NJ on November 8, 1995 he was a 2014 graduate of Delaware County Christian School before starting his education at Messiah College in 2015. After three major changes, Adam settled on education and graduated in 2019 with his Bachelor's in Education (B.Ed.). He was very active in his churches, Hope Philly in Exton and Bethany Evangelical Presbyterian in Havertown. A leader in the Youth Group at church, he was also a YMCA of the USA Camp Counselor from 2014 to 2018, a role he cherished.  Adam was a teacher in the Carlisle Area School District at Lamberton Middle School teaching science to fifth and sixth graders. From August 2020 to present, Adam was employed as a purchasing and showroom manager with Beatty Lumber and Millwork Co. in Upper Darby.

Adam was a very talented musician and enjoyed playing the piano and the drums. He was huge sports fan. But most of all, Adam had a zest for life. Family and friends recall his energetic, magnetic personality. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten. 

In addition to his parents, Donald and Catherine; Adam is survived by his older brother, Alex Dawes and his wife, Renee of Lafayette Hill and their children, James Walden and Rosalie Grace Dawes and his girlfriend, Sarah Allen of Havertown.

Also surviving are his uncle, R. John Dawes and his wife, Katie; his aunts, Pat Becker and Claudia Hepler and her husband, Randy and close family friend, Dr. Liz Stuller as well as many cousins, extended family and friends.

Adam is predeceased by his grandmother, Violet K. (nee Kemp) Dawes, with whom he had a very special, close relationship with.

A Celebration of Adam's Life will be Saturday, February 25th, 2023 at 2:30pm in Bethany Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 5 Concord Ave., Havertown, PA 19083. Family and friends will gather in the church before services for a time of visitation from 1 to 2:30pm.
