John (Jack) Charles Ridgell age 86 of Broomall Pa, died 1-12-22 after a prolonged illness. Despite a long painful and courageous battle that kept Jack  in and out of the hospital the past year, his strength and grace never wavered. We are so proud of him and appreciate how hard he fought for his family without so much as a complaint.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Alice V Ridgell, his dear daughter Valerie, his beloved son Craig( wife Michelle) , and his four beautiful grandchildren Isabella, Joey, Ally, and Dominic. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Annie Ridgell and brother Robert and sister-in-law Mary of Philadelphia.

Jack was born on July 17th, 1935, in Southwest Philadelphia and was a graduate of West Catholic Boys School in 1954. In 1955, he was drafted and served for the army as a military policeman for two years. Following his marriage in 1962 to Alice V Ridgell, he served as a logistics coordinator for General Electric Company, where he worked most of his career. Following his retirement from GE, he became a crossing guard for Haverford township. He took great pride in protecting the children of Haverford school district and assuring they arrived at school and back safely.

Jack was a great family man and a loving father. Following his marriage to Alice V Ridgell, the couple raised two children together in Yeadon Pa. Later in the life Jack and Alice moved to Broomall where he would spend as much time as he could with his grandchildren. a highlight of his life was a cruise to Bermuda in honor of his 30th WEDDING anniversary

Jack was an avid, enthusiastic sports fan, football, and baseball where his passion. Other than his family, nothing made Jack happier than his Eagles and Phillies.
