John (Jack) P. Laughlin, age 87, of West Chester, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2022 at his home. He was the loving husband of Sallyanne (Tuner); together they shared nearly 63 years of marriage.
John was born in Chicago, IL on March 22, 1935, and was the son of the late David Laughlin and Elizabeth McCarthy. He graduated from Saint Ignatius High School Class of 1953 and Saint Ambrose College Class of 1957. Most of the Jack’s life was spent in the food industry starting with Campbell’s Foods in Camden, NJ. After Campbell’s he joined Sara Lee as their V.P. of Sales in the Northeast Region. Jack then joined T.A. James Food Brokerage as their V.P of Sales of Marketing selling a variety of frozen food products. He continued to work for a variety food brokerage companies and in food consulting industry until he retired in 2004. Even in retirement, Jack was the sales leader for a small asphalt maintenance company always keeping himself busy. Jack loved spending time with his children & grandchildren and was an avid sports fan of all teams in Chicago. He loved researching & reading on his iPad and keeping up on his relatives & national events on Facebook. Jack was loved by all his neighbors and their children growing up who often saw him as their “second” dad.
In addition to his beloved wife Sallyanne, Jack is survived by his children John Laughlin and wife Geri of Limerick, PA, David Laughlin of West Chester, Tom Laughlin of West Chester, Kerry Laughlin of West Chester and Patrick Laughlin and his wife Kristin of Kennett Square. Jack has three beautiful granddaughters, Georgia and Kate Laughlin of West Chester and Tara Laughlin of Virginia Beach, VA. He is also survived by his brother David of San Antonio, TX. Jack was preceded in death by his loving son Christopher Laughlin and sister Della Mae.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a service in celebration of Jack’s life on Friday July 22, 2022, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Logan Funeral Home 698 East Lincoln Highway, Exton, PA 19341.
Jack was a lover of animals and in lieu of flowers, contributions in Jack’s memory may be made to the SPCA of Brandywine Valley – West Chester, 1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester, PA 19380.
