John F. Greco

John F. Greco, 73, of Malvern, PA passed away March 6th, 2020 surrounded by his family.  Born July, 1946 in Astoria NY, John was the son of the late Anthony and Beatrice.  John was raised in Elmont NY and graduated Sewanhaka High School, Floral Park, class of 1965.

John is survived by his Daughter, Victoria Greco and Granddaughter, Gianna, of Malvern;  Life Partner and Soulmate, Lynne Cooney, of Phoenixville; Step Daughters, Erin and Emily (Creigh) Cooney, of Phoenixville;  Sister, Susan Greco, of Lewes, DE and Brothers, James, of Boynton Beach, FL and Robert, of Ocala, FL.

Following high school, John was proud to serve in the US Airforce, going on to open "Focus" his successful salon on Long Island, NY.

John moved to Chester County, PA in 1987. He worked at several local salons over the years, most recently, at Avante, Exton PA.   John spent the last 10 years working happily alongside his "Avante Family".

Being the people person that he was, John was involved in many organizations, including the Brandywine Valley Senior Softball League. He was Manager of his team for several years, leading his teams to the championship more than once, including as the first team EVER to go 20-0!

John’s love of the water led him to purchase his favorite spot, on the beach, in Margate, NJ, where he spent every summer for the past 20 years.  He served on the board of the HOA at his beach home, several times as President.  His love of the sea also led him to buying his boat, "In Like Finn" (affectionately - "The Finn") and to becoming a member of The Coastguard Auxiliary.  John was most at peace when on the water, fishing, and being in the salt air.

John loved life! He was always the life of the crowd, enjoying his red wine with friends.  He was one of the funniest people you will ever meet and if you were lucky enough to be very close to John, you got to see that he was also the sweetest man with the biggest heart and could be quite sentimental.  John was larger than life and his loss is felt deeply by many.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2020 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the Logan Funeral Home, Inc., 698 E. Lincoln Highway, Exton, PA 19341.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to your favorite charity.
