John C. Wilson

On November 11, 2022, John Charles Wilson, Sr., loving husband to Barbara Grugan Wilson, passed away at age 84.

John was born on December 31, 1937, to Genevieve (Ryan) Wilson and Charles H. Wilson in the Overbrook section of Philadelphia.

John and Barbara met in second grade. They never dated anyone but one another and married in 1959. They welcomed four children, Karen Wilson Scheuermann (Carl), Susan Wilson Monard (Phillip), Barbara Wilson Cona (Michael), and John Charles Wilson, Jr. (Marybeth).

John graduated from LaSalle High School in 1956 and pursued multiple interests. Ultimately, he joined Steamfitters Local 420, working in this field until he started his own business, Wilson Home Inspectors, in 1983. He ran a successful business for many years and was recruited as the Building Inspector for Westtown Township from 2010-2017. To continue his unending quest for knowledge, John enrolled in Immaculata University’s College of Lifelong Learning at the age of 78 with a full course load.

After their children had married, John and Barbara traveled the world extensively and enjoyed many adventures together. Their passions, however, were always their family and their faith. They loved spending time with their 15 grandchildren, Michael, Brian, Daniel, Christopher, Laura, Matthew, Kevin, Sarah, Courtney, Katie, Julia, Emma, Jack, Luke, and Andrew. They were elated to welcome the next generation with great-grandchildren Isabella and Jude.

John is predeceased by his siblings Michael and Jerome Wilson and is survived by siblings Leo (Donna) Wilson, Phillip (Lynne) Wilson, and Maureen Wilson.

All who had the privilege to know John knew him as a man of faith and family. He will be sorely missed by many, but his memory will live on through all the lives he touched.

Funeral arrangements are being managed through Logan Funeral Home in Exton, PA. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Maximillian Kolbe Church, 15 E. Pleasant Grove Road, West Chester, PA on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 11:00 A.M.

Friends and family are welcome to visit with the family at the church from 9:45 A.M. to 10:45 A.M.

Interment will be at St. Agnes Cemetery, 1050 Pottstown Pike, West Chester, immediately following the Mass.
