Joan Ann Dougherty (nee Kelly), of N. Wildwood, formerly of Yeadon and South West Philadelphia, passed away on Sunday, December 5th after reaching the age of 80 years old.
She is survived by her three children Karen, John (Janet) and Stephen; four grandchildren Danielle, Ryan, Kayla, and Ava; her brothers and sisters; and a host of nieces, nephews and other beloved friends and relatives. She is predeceased by her loving husband, John J Dougherty Jr. and brother, William Kelly.
Joan is a proud graduate of John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High School. Her true passion was raising her children. After which, she began her career as a property manager for The Henderson Group where she worked until she retired.
Joan was a devoted mother and appreciated nothing more than spending time with her family. She also enjoyed playing pinochle with her friends, lounging at the beach, and visiting the casino with her sisters.
After retirement, she enjoyed fishing for flounder in the back bays of Wildwood with her husband and captain, John.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, December 10, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Notre Dame de la Mer (formerly St. Ann's). 2901 Atlantic Ave, Wildwood, NJ 08260. A Visitation will also be held at the Church prior to the Funeral Mass 9:30-10:45 A.M. Interment Private.
