It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joan R. Capone (Russo) of Malvern, PA, more recently of Hershey’s Mill, West Chester, PA, who departed this life peacefully on August 31, 2025, at the age of 86.
She was the daughter of John and Minnie Russo of Lansdale. Joan was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, known for her warmth, humor, and family focus. Her generous spirit and kind heart touched the lives of all who knew her.
Born in Lansdale, PA, Joan spent her life devoted to her family. She was a wonderful mother, always there for her children and grandchildren, selflessly putting their priorities first and foremost. Joan was a fantastic cook who took pleasure in family gatherings as well as with neighbors, friends and coworkers from the Chester County Courthouse and Wyeth Laboratories. Known as “Mom Mom” to her grandchildren, she concluded conversations by saying “Love You More”, which was used so often, it became her car’s license plate. She brought joy and comfort to those around her with her loyalty, honesty, wisdom, and engaging sense of humor.
She is survived by her sister Mary Savo, brother Father Anthony Russo, her sister-in-law, Tonia Russo, her children Constance, John (Lisa MacDonald), and Vincent (Paula Nicastro), and seven adoring grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Friday morning, 10 to 11 A.M., at St. Patrick’s Church, Malvern, PA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. The Interment will be held at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Norristown, PA. Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years (Stanley), brothers (Louis and Frank Russo), and her beloved godson Stephen Savo.
Her presence will be deeply missed, and her spirit will remain a guiding light for all who had the honor of knowing her and the lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations can be made online to the American Heart Association in Joan’s memory at: https://www.heart.org.
