Joan B. Baumann (née Biborosch) of Broomall passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on June 2, 2022 at the age of 86, after a long battle with cancer.
Born on August 22, 1935 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Louise Biborosch (née Rodeheaver). She was an Upper Darby Highschool graduate, class of 1953, and worked as an executive secretary in her early years.
Joan is survived by her loving spouse Fred "Ollie" Baumann, who she was happily married to for 40 years. Her sons Steven Peters (Denise), Frederick Peters (Stefanie) and her daughter Joann O’Brien. Joan was the most amazing grandmom to her five granddaughters, Jennifer Peters (Sean), Heather O'Brien, Kirsten Sapp (Brian), Danielle DeRuschi (Bob) and Nicole Peters. She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren Lula and Charlie Sapp, and Robert "Roo", Stella, and Rita DeRuschi. Joan loved spoiling her two rescue dogs Ginger and Roscoe; they were her pride and joy.
Joan loved fiercely and deeply. She adored spending time and making memories with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A true people-person, she became instant friends with everyone she encountered throughout her lifetime and cherished each as if they were her own family. She had a passion for giving, regardless if it was to the staff at her favorite restaurant Joe’s or to the wildlife that visited her backyard, she always put others before herself. She was a die-hard Phillies and Eagles fan, rarely ever missing a game. She loved her scratch off lottery tickets, and never missed the chance to enjoy her favorite Madeleine cookies. A vibrant and magnetic woman, she is sorely missed by all, but her kind nature, strong-will, and love continues to live on through all those she left behind.
Relatives and friends are invited to Joan's visitation on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 10:00 AM followed by her funeral service at 11:00 AM, at Logan-Videon Funeral Home, 2001 Sproul Rd, Broomall, PA, 610-356-8080.
