Jeanne Anne Fitzgerald (nee Boncek), 75, born and raised in Clifton Heights, PA, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025.
She was the daughter of the late Walter F. and Agnes (nee Cienki) Boncek and sister to both Terri Boyce (nee Bradley) and the late Joseph Boncek.
Jeanne graduated from Clifton Heights High School and proudly earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) from the University of Pennsylvania. She loved nursing and was an excellent nurse. From charge nurse/school nurse/ private duty/ case manager, she brightened the patients’ lives at organizations such as the Institute of Pennsylvania Hospital, Misericordia Hospital, Philadelphia School District, Bayada Home Health Care, the Jesuit Infirmary at St. Joseph’s University, and Independence Blue Cross. She was a fierce advocate for her patients and for her family.
She had a sharp intellect and loved debate, humor, her alma mater Penn, reading, good music played loud, going on trips or "downtown" to Philly, stimulating conversation, museums and fine restaurants.
Remembered not only for the hard work and professionalism exhibited throughout her nursing career, but she also showed immense dedication in taking care of her family, including both parents and her Aunt Josephine during long illnesses until their passing.
She enjoyed going to movies at the Ritz, visiting Winterthur or Longwood Gardens, traveling to Vermont, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Montreal, San Francisco, Thousand Islands, and Vermont, and especially spending time with her beloved family.
She is survived by her children, Danielle A. Wosczyna (Frank), Megan E. Fitzgerald, and Robert E. Fitzgerald (Jamie); grandchildren, Cedric J. Fitzgerald and Benjamin W. Wosczyna; ex-husband Eugene A. Fitzgerald (Nancy), sister Terri Bradley, (nephew Steven Bradley and family, niece Kristen Bradley Graham and family). Visitation will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the Logan-Videon Funeral Home (2001 Sproul Road, Broomall, PA) with the Funeral Liturgy Service immediately following at 11:00 AM.
Burial will be at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
