Jane Bollinger Obituary

Jane Grimm Bollinger, a Registered Nurse for over forty years, died peacefully in her sleep at home on Saturday, March 29th at the age of 96.

Jane was born in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania on May 15, 1928. She graduated from the Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing in 1949.  She started her career as a pediatric nurse, and later as a Registered Nurse at Bryn Mawr, Tri-County and Delaware County Hospitals.  She ended her nursing career as a volunteer at Delaware County Hospital where she was recognized as Volunteer of the Year in 2007. Jane was also the go-to nurse in the neighborhood, caring for the local kids’ bruised knees and elbows.

Jane and her husband, Jeep, were avid travelers and spent time in Hawaii, California, Florida, Virginia, Mississippi, Maryland, and Colorado. As an active member of the Red Hats Society, Jane was known for organizing interesting luncheons and tours for the ladies.  She enjoyed needlepoint, arts and crafts, and sitting on her porch talking on the phone with friends and family. Jane’s favorite moments were those spent at the annual Grimm family reunions in Lock Haven and at her infamous ‘porch parties’ inviting family, friends and neighbors to celebrate holidays, birthdays, showers, anniversaries, and no reason at all.

Beloved wife of the late Hudson R. Bollinger (Jeep); devoted mother of Robert S. Bollinger, John R. (Lorraine) Bollinger, and David L. Bollinger; loving grandmother of four grandchildren Kyle T. (Stephanie), Timothy R. (Vanessa), Tyler, and Caitlin; five great grandchildren Evan, Owen, Jack, Reed and Mia and sister of David Grimm.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation Friday, April 11th, at 9:30 am at the Logan Videon Funeral Home, 2001 Sproul Road, Broomall, PA 19008 and to her Funeral Service at 10:30 am in the funeral home. Burial will be at Philadelphia Memorial Park, Paoli, PA.
