On January 10 2022, James Anderson Pagels, 70 years old passed away peacefully leaving us with countless memories. He was loved by so many as a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Jim was pre-deceased by his parents, Alma Pagels and General Edward Pagels and his brother Edward Pagels.
Jim is survived by his love Cheryl Tatasciore, his siblings George Pagels (Cindy), Marie Sullivan, his daughter Jessica Taylor (Dylan) , his son Michael Pagels and three Grandchildren Lucas, Nathan and Molly who he adored, along with many nieces and nephews.
Jim was born in Patterson, New Jersey and graduated from Mahwah High School where he played and excelled in baseball, basketball and track. Jim then attended Johnson and Wales university and graduated from the New York Institute of technology with a bachelors degree in business. He was employed by Tote ( Nebraska ) and Mitch and Pagels ( NYC) where he was the Eastern US Sales Representative. Jim enjoyed a long standing domestic and international career in the field of materials and handling before retiring.
Family members describe his many qualities as: sensitive, quick- witted, wry- humored, caring, loving and as one with a heart of gold. His brother George recalls growing up and doing everything with Jim as his loving brother and best friend. No matter whether in carefree or life-struggling times, Jim always gave of himself with fondness an all-abiding sense of humor. Whether being “dragged“ into his daughter, Jessica’s pre wedding dance lessons, which resulted in a desire for more ballroom dancing, or to being a Pied Piper for all animals, many sensed his love and felt protected by it. He will be missed.
Per Jim’s request, there will be no formal viewing or church service. A life celebration will be announced at a later date. Any donations in Jim’s honor to your local SPCA or animal shelter would be most appreciated. Jim would have loved this.
