James (“Jim”) J. Gallagher, 90, of Exton, passed away on May 10, 2020 in Brandywine Hospital. Jim was most recently a resident of Exton Senior Living. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late James and Margaret (Moore) Gallagher. Jim was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War. He was also a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, class of 1960. Jim worked as a salesman in publishing for many years until his retirement.
Jim loved telling a good story and laughing and joking around with people. He delighted his nieces and nephews with his impersonations and how he would often sing rhyming songs. He enjoyed being a mentor to them as they were growing up. Jim also liked to play tennis whenever he could in his younger years. He lived in Fairfield Connecticut and moved to San Diego for several years where he enjoyed the warmer weather and being outside.
Jim was loved by his sister, Margaret Mary “Peg” Gallagher Riley, and brother Joseph Gallagher (deceased) his nieces and nephews, Margaret Riley Evans (Jack), Philip Riley (Clare), Kevin Riley (deceased), Marian Riley Whiteside, and his great nephew and nieces, Ryan Boyce, Alyssa Evans, Connor Evans, Caitlin Riley and Sarah Riley.
Services and interment private at the convenience of the family.
