Ida Fazzi Obituary

Ida A. Fazzi, of West Grove, previously of Yeadon passed away April 25, 2022 at the age of 95.

Ida was born in South Philadelphia to Rosario and Grace Vitale. In 1946, she married Gaetano (Tony) Fazzi, whom she shared 40 years of marriage until his passing in 1987.   Ida was also pre-deceased by her daughter Roseann in 1971, brothers Ralph and Anthony Vitale and sister-in-law, Ida Vitale.  She is survived by her daughters Diane (Thomas) DePeppe and Angela Fazzi, her loving grandchildren Rosanna (Mark) Ringwald, Thomas (Courtney) DePeppe, Joseph (Katie) DePeppe and Alicia (Matt) Kunz, her great grandchildren Frankie, Jaclyn, Nicky, Ryan, Payton, Bryce, Landon, Caleb, Nicholas, Savannah, Gavin and Aubrey and great-great-granddaughters Tessa and Sienna. Also survived by her sister-in-law Anita Vitale, her dear friend Rita Moore and many Nieces and Nephews whom she adored.

Ida lived a wonderful life with her husband Tony, first in South Philly and then in Yeadon where they raised their family.  In 1971, after the loss of her daughter Roseann, Ida began the life of a born again Christian and her Charismatic journey began.  For the rest of her life, until health issues prevented it, Ida served as a volunteer in the Catholic Church in the role of Lector, served on the Bereavement committee and was a part of the RCIA program.  She also served the community as a volunteer delivering meals for 25 years to the homebound with her dear friend Myrtle.  Ida belonged to the Friendship Circle Senior Center and loved her years there. During her time there, in addition to her role with Meal deliveries, her willingness to be involved in all facets of life made a huge difference at the Center. She served on the Advisory Committee and participated in many fundraising activities.

Her optimism, zest for life and commitment to others inspired many at the Center.

From helping strangers who called her in the middle of the night, to just sitting and reading scripture to one of her grandchildren, Ida lived her faith each and every day and anyone who had the privilege to meet her, knew that.  Her legacy will live on through the many people that she guided and helped in her lifetime.  Ida is finally in a place she talked about so much … you are home.
