Howard James Sloane, Jr. (Jim) of Philadelphia, PA sadly left us on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.
Jim was born on July 30, 1941 to Howard and Elizabeth Sloane of Philadelphia, PA. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Laura (Jean), brother Ken Sloane (wife, Lisa), daughter Laura (son-in-law, Jeff), son Jim Sloane, son Jeffrey Sloane and Zoey (badoey).
After graduating from Northeast high school in Philadelphia, PA Jim quickly enlisted in the Army where he served most of his 3 active duty years in Korea. Upon discharge from active duty Jim served in the Army reserves for several more years while starting his career in sales with the Canada Dry bottling company. Jim had a very successful 42 year tenure at Canada Dry and never missed a day of work.
Jim loved Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Eagles and the Phillies.
He loved playing baseball and when not working you could find Jim coaching little league baseball and basketball for sons, Jimmy and Jeffrey. For years Jim was heavily involved with the Southampton Youth Club serving on the board for several years as well.
Jim also loved the beach and long bike rides in Ocean City, NJ where he and Jean had their second home and built lifetime memories. Jim never missed a bike ride or a walk Wawa for the morning paper and his daily hoagie roll.
Jim loved the simple things in life and most of all his family.
