Herbert Ambrose Whitehead, Jr., affectionately known as Herb, peacefully passed away in his sleep on October 28, 2025, at the age of 69. He was deeply loved by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Born and raised in Yeadon, PA, Herb graduated from Monsignor Bonner in 1973 and Drexel University in 1978. A dedicated Electrical Engineer, he held Professional Engineer licenses in both Pennsylvania and Canada. In Yeadon, Herb was a familiar and cherished figure, known by virtually everyone in his generation. From his early days as a Yeadon Swim Club lifeguard and CYO Treasurer to playing on the Clayton’s softball team and playing pinochle at the Galileo Club, Herb’s presence was known. In his hometown, his first name alone was enough—everyone knew Herb.
Herb’s professional journey included roles at BP Refinery, Scott Paper, and Automation Applications (which later became JMP Solutions). He was passionate about his work and retired just last year.
Herb’s devotion extended beyond his career to his family, in-laws, and countless friends.
