Gwynne Rodger (nee Linton) Hagee, a loving and generous woman of faith, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2023, in Paoli. Born on December 7, 1944, in Philadelphia, she was the cherished daughter of the late James Walter and Audray Constance (nee Redman) Linton. Gwynne was predeceased by her husband, the late John D. Hagee, Sr., her brother, the late Walter Getz Linton, and her son, the late John D. Hagee, Jr.
Gwynne was a proud graduate of Penn Hall College in Chambersburg, where she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1964. She embarked on a successful career as a Security Supervisor with Unisys Corporation, demonstrating a commitment to professionalism that would mark her entire career. Passionate about equality and justice, Gwynne also served as President of Diversity in Action Phoenixville and remained on the Board of Directors for over two decades. Her dedication to her community was further exemplified through her role as the Judge of Elections Phoenixville in her voting district, a position she held for over 20 years.
Her surviving children, Daniel J. Hagee, Mary B. Hagee, Margaret (nee Hagee) Labik and her husband, Steve, and Christopher Hagee, remember their mother as a pillar of strength and a beacon of love. Her granddaughter, Ava Labik, will cherish the memories of her grandmother's warm smiles and generous spirit.
Gwynne's faith was a significant part of her life. She was a devoted member of the United Church of Christ of Valley Forge Church for over 30 years. Her faith-filled life was evident in her actions and her commitment to serving others. Gwynne's generous spirit extended beyond her human connections. She was a passionate cat lover, and her feline companions brought her immense joy and companionship.
In memory of Gwynne, we celebrate her life and the profound impact she had on those around her. Her legacy of love, generosity, and faith will forever be remembered by her family, friends, and the community she served so passionately. Gwynne Rodger Hagee was indeed a remarkable woman who lived her life with conviction, grace, and an unwavering commitment to the service of others. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she has left behind. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.
Services for Gwynne will be on Saturday, September 30th, 2023 at 10am in her home church, United Church of Christ at Valley Forge, 45 Walker Rd., Wayne, PA 19087. Burial will be private.
