Govind Dattaram Malvankar, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in Malvern, Pennsylvania, on August 10, 2025, at the age of 79. Born to Dattaram and Prabhavati Malvankar on March 23, 1946, in Reddy, Maharashtra, India, Govind was the eldest of six siblings - Sunanda, Vilas, Vasanti, Anand, and Sharad and a guiding presence throughout his life.
Govind is survived by his three sisters, Sunanda, Vilas, and Vasanti, and his brother Anand. He is also survived by his two sons, Prasad and Priyesh; daughters-in-law Alpana and Pratima; and his beloved grandchildren Avantika, Aditi, Pratirp, and Praneet.
Govind’s early years were spent in Reddy before he pursued his studies at the prestigious J.J. School of Art in Mumbai. He went on to have a fulfilling career at Duphar Interphran, where his dedication and creativity shone through.
A man of many passions, Govind was loving, jovial, artistic, and adventurous—a true risk-taker at heart. An avid astrologer, he also had a deep love for travel, exploring the world and embarking on countless road trips. He lived fully and joyfully, guided by his personal motto: “Khao, Piyo, Jiyo”—Eat, Drink, Live.
Govind’s warmth, humor, and zest for life touched all who knew him. His legacy of love, art, and adventure will continue to inspire his family and friends for years to come.
