Gertrude Elaine Patton

Gertrude Elaine Patton, of Broomall, PA was born May 21, 1926 and died October 20, 2024. Elaine lived a life that spanned 98 years.  She was the daughter of William A and Gertrude E Patton, the sister of Helen E Thompson and William A Patton Jr.

She was raised in a loving family, had a passion for playing basketball and hockey, and leveraged that passion to become a graduate of Temple University with a degree in physical education. She loved children and devoted her entire career to teaching physical education to elementary school students in the state of Delaware.

Although Elaine never married, she had one niece and four nephews, and she filled their lives with childhood memories that would last a lifetime. She gave them summers at the beach, made Christmases and birthdays extra special, and always seemed to find activities and gifts that would enrich their lives forever.  When these children had grown, she carried on this same tradition with her grandnieces and grandnephews.  She enjoyed summers at Stone Harbor and frequent trips to Lancaster County with her lifelong friend Eva Denlinger.

She was always there to help friends and loved ones through illnesses and in their times of need. She was truly a generous remarkable woman that found ways of giving selfless love to others all of her life. She was a beautiful and loving Auntie.
