George Gessner

George Gessner, 80, of Broomall, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 5th, 2022 in Rosewood Gardens, Broomall. He was the loving husband of the late Elizabeth Ruth (nee Miller) Gessner. Sadly, Elizabeth passed June 10th, 2022.

Born in Darby on April 18th, 1942, he was a son of the late George and Marguerite (nee Leddy) Gessner. He was a graduate of Monsignor Bonner High School and went on to graduate from St. Joseph's University. He was a biochemist for several pharmaceutical companies before retirement. He enjoyed astronomy, bird watching and kayaking.

Surviving are his children, Jennifer L. (nee Gessner) Draudt of Kinnelon, NJ and Kenneth W. Gessner of Media; grandchildren, Abigail and Carly Draudt both of Kinnelon, NJ; sisters, Marguerite (nee Gessner) Boate and her husband, Richard of Estero, FL and Barbara (nee Gessner) Kyne and her husband, Tony of Lehigh Acres, FL and a brother, Richard Gessner of West Chester.

A Graveside Service will be at 2pm on Wednesday, August 17th, 2022 in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 S. Sproul Rd., Springfield, PA 19064.
