Gene Lohr Obituary

Gene P. Lohr, of Malvern PA passed away peacefully on August 2, 2019.  Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Katherine Lohr and his brother, Greg Lohr.  He was born in Pittsburgh, PA.  Gene married his high school sweetheart, Mary Lou (Clouse) Lohr and they enjoyed 53 years together. 

 Gene is a graduate of Penn Hills High School and Youngstown (OH) State University.  Gene had a successful business career in Management which allowed him to travel the world.  Gene enjoyed golfing and treasured the friendships he formed with his golfing buddies.  June 7, 2009 was a celebratory date for Gene as he scored his first hole-in-one!  Gene was also a meticulous gardener and landscaper. There was never a blade of grass out of place.  But it was his love of animals, his genuineness, his kindness, and his sense of humor that will serve as his legacy to all who knew and loved him.

Gene is survived by his wife, Mary Lou, his daughters, Dr. Kristen M. Lohr and Kelly Camp (Kevin), and his brother, David R. Lohr (Margie). Gene will be missed by his cherished grandchildren who called him “Pappy” `- Alex, Katie, Lauren, Abby, Madison, and Brodie.  Gene is also survived by a niece and several nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 from 8:30-10:30 at Logan Funeral Home, 698 East Lincoln Highway, Exton, PA 19341.  A mass will follow at 11:00 AM at Saints Philip and James Catholic Church, located across the street from the funeral home. 

Donations may be made in Gene’s memory to Brandywine Valley SPCA-West Chester, 1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester, PA 19380.
