Frances Michaela Jeffers (nee Ackroyd), known to her family as “Franky”, was born February 16, 1931 in Scranton, PA, and died peacefully on December 7, 2024, at Riddle Village in Media, PA.
Before moving to Riddle Village, Franky lived in Broomall, PA with her beloved husband Martin J. Jeffers Sr (now deceased) of 64 years, where they raised three children. Franky was the devoted mother of Marty Jeffers (Sita), Eileen McGeever (Charlie), and J. Kevin Jeffers (Christine). Adoring grandmother of Marietta, Kiel, Julianna, Korey, Alexander, Maura, and Kolin. Great Grandmother to Sloane, Rhys, Grayson, Charlotte, Lincoln, and Noah. Beloved sister of Rudolph, Ann, James, and survived by her brother Joseph.
Franky was a dedicated wife and mother. She embraced her family and treasured precious moments with them. She especially loved her role as “Grammy”, with Christmas being her favorite holiday! She spent hours baking, cooking, and decorating, ensuring that her family understood the truest meaning of the holiday! Gifts were plentiful under her tree, where she assured each grandchild of fulfilling their Christmas wishes.
To her friends, Franky was known as “Fran”. She enjoyed her bowling league, meeting friends for weekly card games, and visiting the casinos. Fran was an active member at St. Pius X, while serving on committees through St. Kevin and St. Francis Parish. Franky was a ferocious reader and gardener!
In honor of Franky, relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation 9-10:00 AM, Saturday, January 18, 2025 at St. Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Rd., Broomall, PA 19008 followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Pius X Church at the above address.
