Ernest K. Koons Jr.

Ernest “Ernie” Kenneth Koons Jr., 88, of the Villages at Lady Lake, FL, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2022 under the care of Cypress Care Center, Wildwood FL.

Ernest was born on December 16, 1933 to the late Ernest and Anna Koons in Pottstown PA. After graduating from high school, he spent several years in the U.S Navy. After his time in the Navy, he worked in various positions at National Rolling Mills, now Worthington Steele for 30+ years. In 1959, Ernest married his wife, the late Ruth Koons, of 56 years and they raised their four children in Exton, PA. In June 1997, Ernest and Ruth retired from Exton to the Villages in FL.

Ernest had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening, wood working, fishing, boating, playing cards and making wine. While residing in the Villages, Ernest enjoyed working part time at the neighborhood watch and participated in several community and social clubs. During the holiday season, Ernest loved baking for his family and friends.

Ernest was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth W. Koons; his father, Ernest K. Koons Sr; his mother, Anna R. Koons; and his daughter-in-law, Susan Douglas-Koons. He is survived by his sister, Susan (John) Heitsenrether and his four children, Robert Koons, Mark Koons, Sharon (John) Fisher and Barbara (Ron) Witt. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Ashley Fisher, Ryan Koons, Laura Witt and Andrew Witt.

Ernest enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and he will be forever in our hearts and missed very much.

Visitation will be October 22 9:30AM at Logan Funeral Home, 689 E Lincoln Hwy, Exton, PA.
