Elizabeth Somers Obituary

Elizabeth (Bette) was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 9, 1942 to parents Elizabeth A. Stewart and Carroll G. Stewart. The family moved to Washington D C- then to Tennessee and then to Bala Cynwyd, Pa where lots of happy childhood memories were made.

She graduated from Lower Merion High School in 1961 and attended Pierce Junior College. Her life took several turns- married to Roy H Gardner(deceased)- remarried to Robert L. Jones (deceased)- remarried John Somers (deceased).

Bette was in sales for WEEZ Radio station for several years but her love and knowledge of domestic animals and exotic birds created an opportunity for her to start a business, B&J Birdseyeview that she successfully owned and operated for many years. After selling the business she decided retirement was not an option and became a sales associate for Boscov in Exton which she absolutely loved- She was very generous to her family and friends and most of her salary from Boscov was spent on gifts, cosmetics and an extensive wardrobe.  She was in retail heaven.

Bette sadly passed away on June 5, 2022 and leaves behind three grown children, Jennifer Gardner and life partner Justin Beiter, Sean Gardner, deceased ,and Kristian Gardner and wife Kym-8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and one sister, Greer Lange and nephew Henry Lange and wife Brynn.

Her love of entertaining and stories loaded with a lot of imagination will always be with her friends and family and are already missed.

May she rest in peace in Paradise.

Her burial will be in the cemetery of Washington Memorial Chapel, Valley Forge, Pa in August-exact date tbd.
