Elizabeth A. "Bettyann" (nee Moran) Gardner, a life-long resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and a retired Tuition Officer at John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls’ High School was called to Heaven at the age of 66 after bravely battling a long illness.
Bettyann is survived by her husband, Robert S. Gardner, her daughters, Theresa and Elizabeth Gardner, Mary Violet Danley (Kenneth C. Danley III), and her precious grandson Kenneth C. Danley IV; her brothers, Edward J. Moran (MaryEllen), Dennis P. Moran (Mary), Brian D. Moran (Terry), her sister, Mary Violet Moran; her sister-in-law, Nancy Cheri (Carl Mature), brother-in-law, William Gardner and many nieces and nephews.
Bettyann is predeceased by her parents Edward J. and Elizabeth T. Moran (nee, Keenan), her brother, James A. Moran, her beautiful niece, Helen C. Moran, her in-laws, Robert and Stella Gardner and her sisters-in-law, Linda Colvin and Patricia Gardner.
Bettyann was born and raised in the Grays Ferry section of Philadelphia on February 20, 1956, and currently resides in the Marconi Plaza area of the City. Bettyann was a 1974 graduate of St. Maria Goretti.
Bettyann was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed the Jersey Shore, and adventure experiences like zip-lining, escape rooms and white- water raftering. She was a rabid EAGLES fan, who glowed in 2018 when her team brought the Vince Lombardi Trophy home to Philadelphia. Her smile was infectious, her heart was huge, and her love was shared by all who knew her. Bettyann will be dearly missed from her four-legged buddies, Rex, Rocky and Raven.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass, 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 31st at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 2917 Dickinson Street, Philadelphia, PA 19146. There will be a visitation from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM Thursday prior to mass at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bettyann’s name can be made to St. Gabriel Catholic Church.
