Eleanor J. Reale

Eleanor J. Reale, 74, of Havertown, Pennsylvania, died June 16, 2021, surrounded by family. Beloved wife of fifty-two years of Dennis T. Reale; devoted mother of Dennis M. (Stacy) of Drexel Hill; Matthew (Laura) of Jenkintown; Jeffrey (Nikki) of Clifton Heights; and Angela (Don) Povia of Hamilton, New Jersey.  Adoring grandmother to Alexandria, Rachel, Eleanor, Hayden, Max, Anna, Evelyn and Jackson.

Eleanor is also survived by her brother Albert (Judy) of Williamstown, New Jersey, and a large extended family. Daughter of the late Sophie and Humberto Petrancuri of South Philadelphia, she was also pre-deceased by her brother Dennis.

A graduate of Bok Technical High School in Philadelphia, where she studied cosmetology and hair styling, Eleanor worked as a hairdresser for nearly five decades, retiring from the career she loved in 2012.

Eleanor met Dennis, the love of her life, on a bowling date in 1966 at Park Lanes in South Philadelphia, and they married two years later. The couple settled and started their family in Overbrook Park, later relocating to Havertown in 1999, where she was a member of Sacred Heart Parish. She was blessed with a wide circle of friends, and enjoyed visiting casinos to play poker and the slots for fun.

Eleanor’s greatest joy was spoiling her eight grandchildren and treating them to the delights of her kitchen, especially her Sunday gravy. Family and friends alike were always welcome in her home, where many would gather for great meals and countless laughs.

Eleanor’s family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday June 28, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 220 S. Lawrence Road in Broomall.  There will be a Visitation on Sunday evening, June 27, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Logan Funeral Home, 57 S. Eagle Road, Havertown, Pennsylvania AND Monday morning 9:30-10:00 a.m., June 28th at St. Pius X Church.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate contributions in Eleanor’s name to the American Cancer Society.
