Eleanor Kolajtowicz, born in Philadelphia, PA the widow of Theodore Kolajtowicz, celebrated her last birthday at the age of one hundred and one years old. On July 16, 2025, she passed away after her family had expressed their love, admiration, and respect at her bedside.
Eleanor often said, "Don't cry for me when I'm gone." She had no regrets about her life and wanted to spare her family from mourning.
Eleanor was a woman of fortitude and compassion. She was a loving wife to Theodore and loving mother to her daughters, Ellie and Patricia.
During World War II she had several jobs. She pumped gas at a gas station and manufactured coins at the United States Mint. She knew and experienced the hard times that war created on the home front.
Eleanor is survived by her devoted and loving daughter Patricia Cortez, son-in-law Emilio Cortez, her grandchildren: Kristen Cortez and (spouse Benjamin McClung) Carl Cortez and (fiancée Danielle Kocher) and her great grandchildren Vera Rose Cortez McClung and Declan McClung.
Eleanor will be missed, but not forgotten. Rest in peace Eleanor, your spirit and essence live on through your descendants. We love you.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer you make a donation to your favorite charity. No viewings or religious services are scheduled.
