Edward S. Mitchell, Sr.

Edward S. Mitchell Sr., 97, passed away on December 22, 2025, at his home in Harleysville, Pennsylvania. He was born on October 31, 1928, and raised in the “Neck” area of South Philadelphia by his parents, William and Anna Mitchell. He was the loving husband of the late Helen C. Mitchell.

Edward is survived by a loving and extensive family, including his children: Edward S. Mitchell, Jr. (Diane), Richard W. Mitchell (MaryKay Coyne), Helen Mitchell-Sears (Dennis), and Steven J. Mitchell. His grandchildren also remember him: Edward S. Mitchell, III (Chelsea), William Mitchell (Kristen), Diane Bronico (Michael), James Mitchell, and Richard W. Mitchell, Jr. (Amanda). His joy was further amplified by his great-grandchildren: Claire, Jaxson, Zoey, Madeline, Olivia, Luca, Abbey, Augusta John (Gus), and Billy, Jr., all of whom brought immense happiness and pride to his life, along with his beloved pet, Bella.

He is predeceased by his parents, William and Anna Mitchell, as well as his beloved wife, Helen C. Mitchell (née Bain). He is also preceded in death by his brothers: William C. Mitchell, Rinaldo “Riney” Mitchell, Richard H. Mitchell, and John P. Mitchell. His sisters, Pearl “Margie” Latimer and Mary Hagensdorf, also shared in his life’s journey, filled with laughter, love, and memorable moments. He is also preceded in death by his beloved pets: Lady, Bootsy, Missy, Beauty, Bear, Scooby, and Apache.

Edward is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Edward's legacy will be cherished and sustained through the stories and memories shared by those who knew and loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to his graveside service, Monday, December 29, 2025, 10:30 A.M. at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
