Edith L. (Malatesta) Patterson

Edith L. Patterson, age 95, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025, in Kennett Square, PA, enveloped by the love of her family. Born on July 18, 1929, in Philadelphia, PA, Edith's life was a tapestry of warmth, creativity, and generosity that touched the hearts of everyone she encountered.

Edith was the loving wife of the late William Richard Patterson, to whom she was married for 66 years. Her unwavering commitment to her family was evident in every aspect of her life, as she nurtured and cherished her relationship with each member. She was a devoted mother to her three children, Linda, Carol, and Michael, who were the center of her world. Edith was also the loving grandmother of six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, each of whom which she was so very proud of. 

Edith's home was a hub of warmth and hospitality.   She had an innate talent for throwing beautiful parties and gatherings, creating a welcoming atmosphere that made every guest feel special. Her skillful touch turned simple moments into cherished memories, and her well-set tables were often surrounded by laughter, conversation, and the company of friends and family.

Always ready to lend a helping hand, Edith's generous spirit was a testament to her character. She was a woman whose good-hearted nature knew no bounds, as evidenced by her open-door policy. No matter the occasion or time of day, anyone in need of comfort, company, or a listening ear would find solace at Edith's table.  Her ability to make everyone feel welcome was one of her most endearing qualities.

Kind, creative, and generous – these words encapsulate the essence of Edith L. Patterson. Her presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her influence will continue to be felt through the lives she touched. Edith's spirit, characterized by her boundless kindness, will live on in the stories shared by her children, the traditions passed down to her grandchildren, and the laughter that will echo in the hearts of her great-grandchildren.

As we bid farewell to Edith, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, marked by an unwavering dedication to family, a passion for bringing people together, and a heart that never stopped giving. 

Relatives and friends are invited to a Funeral Service, 10:30-11:20 A.M. Friday, March 7, 2025 at Arlington Cemetery Chapel, 2900 State Road, Drexel Hill, PA  19026 followed by her burial at 11:30 A.M.
