Dorothy Streleckis of Exton, PA beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother born on April 30, 1929 went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 30, 2025. Following graduation from Notre Dame High school she became one of the few women of her generation to obtain a college degree by competing for and winning a scholarship to attend Rosemont College. After college she worked as a chemist at Smith Kline and French in Philadelphia for several years before switching careers to stay at home to raise her children. As her children reached their teens she returned to work as a chemist at Gagliardi Brothers (Steak-umms) to ensure her children could all receive degrees as well. In her free time she enjoyed swimming, golfing, playing bridge, and gardening. Of course she was also well known for her famous Christmas cookies which for a few weeks every December would turn her normally civil children into warring adversaries fighting to make sure they each were able to eat their “fair share“ before all the cookies were gone.
She was preceded in death by her parents Cornelius and Ella Dougherty, her husband for 59 years Alfred Streleckis , her siblings -Joseph Dougherty, Francis Dougherty, Jack Dougherty , Therese McCourt and her nephews- David Dougherty and Bill Dougherty. She loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed by her survivors including her children Paul Streleckis (Kimberly) of Philadelphia, PA; Joseph Streleckis (Diane) of Limerick, Pa; Michael Streleckis (Denise) of Sugar Hill, GA and Mary Rogelstad (John) of Downingtown, Pa; 10 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.
A parishioner of Saints Philip and James Catholic Church of Exton, PA since 1967 her viewing will be held there on Tuesday June 10th from 10am to 11am followed by her funeral Mass beginning at 11am. She will be interred immediately following the mass at Calvary Cemetery of West Conshohocken. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers donations to Saints Philip and James Church which was a major part of her life are requested.
