Dorothy Guillen Obituary

Dorothy "Dolly" Evans Guillen, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and educator, passed away peacefully of natural causes on January 25, 2024, at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Pennsylvania with family at her side.

Dolly was born on November 19, 1945, in Bridgton, Maine, to the late Margaret and Frank Evans. She was raised along with her late brother, James Evans, on the family farm in Bridgton, where she learned the New England values of hard work, independence, and determination.

After graduating from Bridgton High School, Dolly pursued her passion for languages at Colby College, earning her Bachelor of Arts in French with minors in Spanish and Art. Her educational journey continued at Central Connecticut State University, where she completed her Master of Science in Spanish. Dolly's academic achievements laid the foundation for her distinguished career as a Spanish teacher, touching the lives of countless students over two decades with her dedication and enthusiasm for education.

Dolly is survived by Pedro, her beloved husband of 53 years, whom she met while studying abroad in Mexico City. Together, they charted their own course, living in 7 states and 2 countries, and built a unique life filled with joy and adventures. Dolly is also survived by her two sons, Steven and Nicolas, and her four grandchildren, Tristan, Emelina, Treble, and Clio.

A passionate fan of the Celtics and Red Sox, Dolly loved sports throughout her life. Also, her adventurous spirit led her to travel extensively with her family, exploring the sites and cultures of Mexico, Spain, Canada, Jamaica, Great Britain, the Netherlands, and Belgium.

Dolly's legacy is one of love, meticulousness, and perseverance. Her absence will be profoundly felt by her family and friends. We take solace in the memories we shared and the love that will forever connect us to her. Dolly's presence will be missed, but her influence will remain a powerful force in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
