Dorothy Francione Obituary

Dorothy A. (nee Paparo) Francione, of Lewes, Delaware previously of Glenolden, PA, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, in Nottingham, PA, at the age of 83 surrounded by her family.  Born in Philadelphia, PA, on May 25, 1942, to the late Salvatore and Dorothy (nee Bradley) Paparo, Dorothy's journey through life was marked by unwavering devotion to her family, commendable resilience, and an infectious zest for life that left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Predeceased by her late husband, John Francione, the love her life. Dorothy is survived by her loving children Diana (Paul) Mangione, Salvatore Pozzuolo, Michael (Claudia) Pozzuolo, Joseph Pozzuolo, Gina, John, Donna, Tony, and the late Theresa. Her role as the matriarch extended to her adoring 22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, who were the recipients of her boundless love and affectionately called her Mom-Mom.  Loving sister of Diane Hough and Sam Paparo.   Predeceased by the father of her children, Dorothy's first husband, Salvatore Pozzuolo. 


Her professional life was spent at Crozer-Chester Medical Center, where she managed billing with the same care and precision she applied to her own life. Dorothy's work ethic was unparalleled, and she instilled the value of diligence in her children, whom she supported and raised. She faced the world with courage, navigating the challenges of life with a sense of humor that brought light to even the darkest of days.

Her love for her late husband, John, was a testament to her capacity for deep affection, and she was revered by her family.  Dorothy's independence and determination were the pillars of her identity, and she remained in control of her life until the very end. Family gatherings were her greatest joy, and she relished being surrounded by her loved ones, sharing stories and laughter, cooking and spending time with her friends.   

Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation 9-9:45 A.M. Saturday, August 30, 2025 at St. Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA  19008 followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M.  Interment immediately following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, Pennsylvania.
