Donald Tumolo Obituary

Donald Michael Tumolo, a cherished and long-time resident of West Chester, PA, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2024, in the comfort of his home with his devoted wife Ann by his side.

Born on August 15, 1934, Don touched the lives of many with his warm heart and gentle spirit. A proud graduate of Bartram High School, Don excelled in sports, playing football, basketball, and baseball. His athletic prowess extended beyond high school, where he played basketball for Hope Presbyterian Church, leading the team to a championship.

Following his graduation, Don served his country in the U.S. Army post-WWII. During his military service, he continued his athletic pursuits, playing football and participating in shot put. After completing his military duties, Don went on to work as a photo engraver at Triangle Publications in Philadelphia showcasing his skills and dedication in the professional realm.

Don's commitment to the community extended to coaching girls' basketball for Sacred Heart CYO. In 1964, he married Marie A. Pepe, and together they built a life centered around family and faith. Don was a kind, caring husband, father, and friend, known for his love of family, Philly sports, Sunday family dinners, Friday pizza party nights, golf, going “down the shore” and eagerly anticipating the next family gathering.

Most notably, Don's personal relationship with Jesus Christ and his love for the scriptures defined his life. He served as a deacon for 30 years at church and dedicated 12 years to teaching Sunday school. In his retirement, he continued his service, driving a school bus for special needs children.

Don is survived by his loving wife Ann Tumolo, children Michael Tumolo (Jolynn), Dawn Pierangeli (Peter), Audrey Chisholm (Dave), grandchildren Maya Tumolo, Victoria Pierangeli Scavicchio (Dominick), Sophia Pierangeli, Matthew Chisholm, Ashley Chisholm, Katie Chisholm, great granddaughter Angelina Scaviccho and sister in law Carol Manserra.
