Donald (Don) Allan Denovan of Newtown Square, PA passed away on May 24, 2026 at home after a brief illness. Born February 2, 1941 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Donald and Anna (nee Buckshinis) Denovan.
Don graduated from Springfield High School in 1959, and from Pennsylvania Military College (now Widener University) in 1964. He had a successful 40 year career in the life insurance business, both in sales and management.
Don was an avid athlete, playing baseball and basketball in high school and college, and golf and tennis in his adult years. Springfield High School baseball was a special memory for Don and he kept in contact with his teammates and coach, Ace Bell.
His roles as Dad and PopPop brought him continuous great joy. Family vacations in Sunset Beach, golfing with his buddies, and trips to Denver, California, Italy, and Alaska were the highlights of a happy life.
Don was the beloved husband of 60 years of Meredith (nee Barr) Denovan; loving father of Amy M. Reardon (Joseph) and Jeffrey A. Denovan (Erin); and proud grandfather of Julia, Tess and Brooke Reardon and James and Patrick Denovan.
A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held on July 10th from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Springfield Country Club.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the ASPCA and the Springfield Athletic Association, P.O. Box 168, Springfield, Pennsylvania 19064 .
