Obituary

Donald G. Deibert, 87, of Havertown, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2020. Born December 6, 1932 in Gordon, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Norman N. and Ida H. (Miller) Deibert. He was the husband of Lorraine C. (Hughes) Deibert. Donald and Lorraine met in Philadelphia and were married on May 1, 1954. They were married for 48 years when his wife passed away after battling Alzheimer’s for 10 years. Don cared for Lorraine in their home until her death in 2002. Don worked alongside his father at N. Deibert & Son in Philadelphia as an appliance serviceman and later became the successor of the family business. He was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan and loved to go fishing. However, his greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he loved very much. In 1966, Don, Lorraine and their three children, moved to Havertown, where he resided for 52 years until his passing. Don will be forever remembered by his daughter, Donna M., wife of David McConnell; four granddaughters, Christina, wife of Brian Cougle, Danielle Deibert, Alecia Deibert and Colleen McConnell and five great-grandchildren, Kyle Deibert, Abigail Dorman, Cole O’Keefe, Connor Cougle and Zachary Cougle and one sister, Joy, wife of Charles O’Donnell. Donald was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda A. Deibert and son, Donald G. Deibert, Jr.
