Don Paul Palermo, Sr., a man known for his generosity, passion, and intelligence, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2023, in Newtown Square, PA. He was born on April 8, 1944, in Philadelphia, PA.
The son of the late Etabella and Dominic Palermo, Don was the loving brother to Laura Palermo and the late Eve Sandra and Paul Don Palermo. He was a role model and a pillar of strength for his family, imparting values of hard work and perseverance to his sons, Don (Lisa) Palermo and Paul (Debby) Palermo, and his grandchildren, Andrew Levin, Victoria, Nicholas, Vincent and Marina Palermo.
Don graduated from the renowned University of Pennsylvania, where he attended the Wharton School of Business. His education laid the foundation for a successful career as a Contract Administrator at Raytheon. Don was a dedicated professional who brought his intelligence and passion to his work, making significant contributions to his field.
Beyond his professional life, Don was a diehard Eagles and Phillies fan. He relished the thrill of the game, the camaraderie of fellow fans, and the shared joy of a home team victory. His love for these teams was only surpassed by the love he had for his family. Don found his greatest joy in the time spent with his children and grandchildren.
Those who knew Don were touched by his generous spirit. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer a word of encouragement, or share a hearty laugh. The quote he found most inspirational was “You have the freedom to be yourself…. Here and Now”
Don Palermo, Sr., will be remembered as a loving father, a doting grandfather, a caring brother, and a loyal friend. His legacy of generosity, passion, and intelligence will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 12:00 PM in the Logan-Videon Funeral Home, 2001 Sproul Rd., Broomall, PA, where friends may call after 11:30 AM.
