Diana "Sue" S. (nee Curry) Ullman of Grays Ferry, South Philadelphia, a woman of immense generosity, tremendous spunk and a heart full of so much love to give, passed away after a hard-fought battle with breast cancer on April 25, 2026 at the age of 78.
Beloved Wife of the late Joseph R. Ullman. Devoted Mother of Sandra “Sandy” D. Arrigale (John). Beloved sister to Bryon Curry (late Bernadette), Joseph Curry (Elizabeth), Carol Cuta, and Robert Curry (Rachel). Loving Grandmother, “mom-mom,” of William Gallagher (Amanda), Seamus Gallagher (Jessica), Sydney Arrigale (Mark), and Alexa Arrigale. Loving Great-Grandmother, “mom-mom 2", of William, Thomas, Nellie, Seamus and the late Magnolia Sue. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Sue was a Hair Dresser for 30+ years at Victor’s Barber Shop in South Philadelphia. Her charismatic, selfless, and friendly personality always allowed her to meet many friends, which always resulted in her knowing just about everyone everywhere she went. Sue was an avid animal lover, especially of cats. She was also an "oldies" music lover as well, especially of Jerry Blavat. She loved spending all of her time with family, especially while shopping, going to North Wildwood or vacationing at Disney World, and of course capturing every moment spent on her disposable cameras. She lived for “girls days” with her daughter and granddaughters, spending the whole day shopping, getting manicures and pedicures, and lunch at Olive Garden together. She always knew how to make everyone around her feel cared for, loved, and exceptionally special. Whether it was remembering your birthday and getting you a card too or purchasing something in Ross or Marshall’s just because it reminded her of you- she was always thinking of ways to bring others joy. Sue was truly the epitome of kindness and a blessing to all of those who knew her.
Above all, Sue adored family, especially her daughter Sandy, who was her whole world. After Sue’s diagnosis, Sandy became her sole caretaker. She loved sitting on the porch with a stray cat that she named Oreo, making her daily 3 AM QVC calls to purchase whatever she thought would make others happy, and sneaking out into the kitchen to make herself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Despite it all, you would not have known that anything was wrong because nothing brought her more joy than having everyone around. Sue cherished her grandchildren and they reciprocated that same love and appreciation for her so loudly.
