Denise Vitullo Obituary

 

Denise A. Vitullo of Lansdowne, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 6, 2023, in Wynnewood, PA, after a courageous battle with cancer.  Born on February 17, 1952, in Philadelphia to Joseph and Louise Gioia, Denise was a loving, generous and courageous woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Vincent Vitullo and her three beloved daughters, Lisa, Christi and Dana.  Her two cherished grandchildren Corey and Mira, brought immense joy and happiness to her life.  Family was everything to Denise and she ensured her loved ones always felt supported and loved.

A proud graduate of Archbishop Prendergast High School in 1970, Denise went on to utilize her education and skills, empowering her with a strong work ethic as a secretary at the Yeadon Police Department for 34 years.  Her dedication to her career, community and coworkers was unwavering and truly commendable.

Denise’s commitment to her community extended beyond her professional life as she spent countless hours volunteering as a member of the Yeadon Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, with the DARE program and many activities with St. Louis School which not only allowed her to give back to her community but it also helped foster lifelong friendships.

A dedicated lifetime Philadelphia sports fan, Denise’s love for her city and its teams was evident in her unwavering support and enthusiasm.  She not only enjoyed watching her favorite teams, but she also participated in various sports throughout her life including basketball, bowling and softball.  Her competitive spirit and love for sports were contagious to all who knew her.

Denise’s family, friends and faith provided her with the strength and courage she needed during her battle with cancer.

Denise A. Vitullo will be remembered for her unwavering love, vibrant spirit and courage.  Her legacy will live on through the lives of her family and friends, who will forever cherish the memories and moments shared with her.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 10, 2023 at St. Louis Church, 821 Cobbs Creek Parkway, Yeadon, PA  19050 where friends may call 9:30-10:45 A.M. at the Church.  Interment Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery.
