David Reinert, age 78, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026. Born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, David lived in Peoria, Arizona with his wife for several years before her death, then moved to Southern Pines, North Carolina and later made his home in Frankford, Delaware, for the final two years of his life.
Dave spent many years with Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., where he built a long and successful career as Supervisor of Office Planning. Dave was proud of his work and brought the same care, precision, and quiet pride in his career that he did to every part of his life.
Dave was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Grace Reinert, and by his beloved wife, Debra, whom he dearly missed.
Outside of work, Dave found his happy place on the golf course, where he enjoyed the challenge of the game and the simple pleasure of being outdoors. Golf offered him both relaxation and a sense of satisfaction—much like the way he approached life itself. Above all, though, his greatest joy was his family.
Dave is survived by his sister, Sharon Gurske; his daughters, Jennifer (Jonathan) Hogue, Jill (James) Keddie, and Jessica (Charles) Ehst. He was a devoted and proud grandfather to Ethan, Ryan, Andrew, Matthew, William, and Emma.
His grandchildren named him Kung-Fu Dave and lovingly called him Pop-Pop or Pops, — titles he wore with unmistakable pride. Whether sharing stories, offering thoughtful advice and encouragement, playing board games or spending time together after a day on the golf course, at home, or at the beach, Pop-Pop treasured every moment. Nothing brought him greater joy than watching his grandchildren grow and simply being there for them.
Dave will be remembered for his gentle humor, steady strength, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, consistency, and love that will continue through his family for generations.
Private services for the family were held following his death. A celebration of David’s life will be announced at a later date.
