David J. Griffith, a resident of Philadelphia and Devon, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, January 25, 2021.
David was a distinguished Philadelphia trial attorney and a retired managing partner at Harvey Pennington. He was a 1967 graduate of Cornell University and a 1970 graduate of Villanova Law School where he was assistant editor of Law Review '69 - '70.
Dave served in three overseas special assignments during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by Laraine Stinger; his daughter Laura Grey and was pre-deceased by his daughter Rebecca Pearlman. Also survived by six grandchildren: Zachary and Abigail Rose Pearlman; Sarah, Rachel, Amanda and Kayla Grey; sister Carol Hickey (John); brother John Griffith and nephews Ryan Hickey and Matthew Griffith.
David was loved by all who knew him. He was a wonderful mentor to new attorneys and provided employment opportunities for many.
He suffered bravely with several serious medical conditions over the last few years. He will be remembered for his kindness, his intellect and his great sense of humor.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at the Cathedral Basilica of Ss. Peter & Paul, 1723 Race St. (18th & Ben Franklin Pkwy), Phila, PA 19103.
Interment private.
