Dan passed away peacefully at his home in Elverson, PA surrounded by loved ones on Saturday June 11, 2022. He was born in Milwaukee, WI and raised in Newtown Square, PA, the oldest son of the late Dan and Gloria Peterson. He graduated from Marple Newtown High School in 1976 and was the first in his family to graduate from college as part of the West Chester University class of 1981.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years Vanessa (Shriner); his sons Joshua (Danielle) and Luke (Cara) of Elverson; his beloved grandchildren Sabrina, Athena, and Lincoln; his five siblings Sally (Mark Decker), Brett (Terrie), Jock (Jodi), John (Valerie), Mark and a half-sister Becky (Leo Sapik). He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and beloved friends who were all dear to him.
Dan worked for thirty years for United Parcel Service (UPS) out of West Chester. Dan and Vanessa raised their family in West Chester, Downingtown and Elverson on a beautiful piece of land that Dan loved.
Dan enjoyed the outdoors and nature and was an avid sports fan. His passion for these were only surpassed by his love for his family. He was the leader of his extended family and exemplified forgiveness and generosity in all things. He became a caregiver to not only his family but to countless friends and acquaintances that he formed bonds with throughout his life. Dan befriended anyone who crossed his path. He made a difference in many lives simply by listening and showing compassion.
